Lakeland-Johnnie L. “Jay” Caldwell, age 82, of Lakeland, FL passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 due to cancer. He was born May 15, 1929 in Bernnie, MO, the son of Harry Marshall Caldwell and Ora E. (Woodall) Caldwell. He moved to the Winter Haven/Lakeland area in 1969 from Missouri. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his daughter Jeannie. He is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Joan Ellen (Baldwin) Caldwell, sons: Larry , Jimmy , Bobby , William , John and Norman , daughters: Karen, Linda, Carol, Norma, Nora, Charleen and Margaret, and a loving host of grand children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8pm at Ott-Laughlin at Glen Abbey in Auburndale, FL. Funeral Services are Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 10:00 am at the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Northside Baptist Church or to the family to help with funeral arrangements.
