Marie was born in Town Creek, Alabama, April 29, 1924. She attended Frist Baptist Church of Wahneta and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Marie and her husband moved their family to Florida in 1959. She retired from Publix Deli after 15 ½ years of service.
Preceded by parents Stephen and Ruth Wilkes, Husband Ben Dean Massey. She is survived by her children, Tommy and Glenda Massey, Patricia and Ray Phillips, Jennie and Bill DeHart and Betty Williams. She has 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823. Funeral service is Thursday morning 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Wahneta, 609 Rifle Range Road, Wahneta, FL 33880. Graveside service will follow immediately at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.
