Rebecca Arlene Conner (née Allen), age 61, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and woman of unwavering faith, Becky’s life was a testament to grace, strength, and love.
Born to Gordon and Florence Allen on July 2, 1963, in Cloquet, Minnesota, Becky dedicated her life to nurturing others—spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. She earned a bachelor’s in Christian Education from Olivet Nazarene University and later pursued a master's in counseling from Governors State University. Her academic path reflected her deep commitment to both faith and service.
Throughout her career, Becky served in various roles that allowed her to pour into the lives of children and families. She worked as a Children's Ministry Director and Pre-School Director in several churches before becoming the Director of a Classical Education School. Her passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom; she also homeschooled her children with dedication and joy.
Becky met the love of her life, Bruce Conner, in 1995 when she moved next door to him in Winter Haven, Florida. Bruce and Becky were married on March 14, 1998. They shared 27 years of love and devotion. They were blessed with two children, Jeremiah Robert and Katelynn Eileen, who were the pride and joy of their lives.
Becky’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. It sustained her through every season and especially during her battle with cancer. In recent years, she spent countless hours studying heaven and preparing her heart for eternity with her Savior. Her spiritual devotion was personal and deeply influential to those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce Conner; son, Jeremiah Robert Conner; daughter, Katelynn Eileen Conner; mother, Florence Jylland Allen; brother, Steve Allen; sister-in-law, Jennifer Allen; and nieces Angela Allen, Elizabeth Allen, and Sheyenne Allen. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Conner, sister-in-law, Dorthy Conner, nephews, Jared and Calab Conner, and niece Christy (Conner) Ore. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Allen, and her unborn daughter, Holly Conner.
Becky found joy in simple pleasures—cooking meals for loved ones, immersing herself in books and sermons, playing music with skill and soul—and above all else, sharing warmth and kindness with everyone she met. Her legacy is one of compassion and steadfast belief.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on May 3, 2025, at Covenant Life Church, 8490 McIntosh Rd, Sarasota, Florida, to honor Becky’s life and celebrate the profound impact she had on those who knew her.
Rebecca Arlene Conner will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
