Sarah Jane McDaniel, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Alfred, Florida on March 12, 2021. She was born on march 21, 1948 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Edward Hazel Wilkerson and Dorothy Virginia Sutley. Sarah is predeceased by her husband of over 45 years, Don McDaniel and her sister Bobbie Jenkins. She is survived by her daughters Tammy Lynn Gorfy (John) and Dawn Marie McDaniel (Petie), her fur child Zoie, sisters Rita Chancey and Pam Gardner and her brother Rodney Wilkerson (Nancy). Sarah also leaves behind her grandchildren Megan, Chelseyrae, Jenna (Tyler) and Morgan and her great-grandchildren Braylnn, Brooklyn, Tyler Jr. and Hadleigh along with a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
Sarah owned and operated a beauty salon in Winter Haven, Florida with her business partner and friend for over 50 years, Pat Shrimplan. She had a passion for people and was always looking for ways to help others. Sarah had a heart of gold, bigger than life personality and sense of humor that will be remembered by all who knew her.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Sarah/s name to Vitas Hospice.
