Billie J. Haygood, a beloved and compassionate soul, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 3, 1942, Billie was a devoted and faithful resident of Martinez, Georgia. She was known for her hard-working and loyal nature, which she demonstrated throughout her life.
Billie retired following several decades with the City of Augusta Water Works as the head cashier clerk, where she was respected for her dedication and efficiency.
In her personal life, Billie found joy in gardening and running her antique booth. She and her husband, Steve Earl Haygood, who preceded her in death just 6 months prior, shared a passion for antiques. Earl was the carpenter who repaired the antiques for them to sell, showcasing their teamwork and shared interests.
Billie is survived by her children, Terry Haygood, Steve Haygood (Dawn), and Cain Haygood (Angela). She leaves behind her grandchildren, Trevor Haygood, Devin Haygood, Emma Haygood, and Rowan Haygood. Billie is also survived by her brothers, Wayne Senn (Linda) of Aiken, SC, Robert Senn (Cheryl) Leesville, SC , Russell Senn (Julie), Keith Senn, and Clayton Senn (Cassandra), all of Leesville, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her Father and step-mother, Roscoe and Edith Senn, mother and step-father, Ardell and Tony Bodlovick; sister, Susie Robinson, and her brother, Ricky Bodlovick.
The family will receive friends at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, located at 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia, on December 15, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Prayer Group from Lumpkin Road Baptist Church, reflecting the deep bonds Billie formed within her church family.
Billie J. Haygood will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
