

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Claudine ("Claudia") Harrell White, age 84. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on October 10, 2025, in Westchester, New York.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906 on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 1pm.

Claudia was born on April 21, 1941, in Augusta Georgia to the late Joseph Wesley Harrell and the late Mae Louise Harrell.
She was a former professional singer and actress, who worked with such names as Janice Paige, Eileen Brennan, and film star Michael Rennie. Her love of music started in church. She sang her first solo in church at age 5 and continued to study classical voice in Augusta, GA for 13 years. After graduating from the Academy of Richmond County, she attended the University of Georgia where she completed a degree in classical vocal music. In 1965 Claudia moved to Atlanta, GA and began a career in musical theater. Shortly thereafter she moved to New York to pursue the same.
Claudia performed in numerous theatrical musicals. She performed with the Augusta Players, Theater Under the Stars, and the national touring company, Summer Stock. Claudia became a director, producer, and a voice and acting teacher. She was recognized by the National Advancement of the Arts as an outstanding teacher in the areas of voice and acting. She was also recognized by the Westchester County Board of Legislators in 2003 for her outstanding volunteerism and commitment to gifted students and learning disabled.
Claudia previously worked at the YM-YWHA of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale, NY where she was the Theater Arts Coordinator. She also directed and produced for the Westchester Musical Theater and was a director for the summer performing arts camp at Central Park Dance Studio in New York.
Claudia was a member of the Kawanis Club of Hartsdale, NY. She became one of the club's most active leaders, including the division's Public Relations Chair. She served as Distinguished Club President in 1998-1999 and again in 2003-2004. She became the Bronx - Westchester south Lt. Governor with Mike Malark in 2010-2011.
Claudia attended the Lyndon Grove Associated Reformed presbyterian Church in Augusta GA, in her youth. She loved God and she loved music. She also had a great love for animals and gardening. Claudia loved spending time with family and cooking for the holidays.
Claudia is survived by her two children Cherie White and John White of Hartsdale, NY; nieces, Georgia Ann Moore of Clarkston, GA and Andrea Moore McMahan of Augusta, GA; great niece Amanda Jennings; uncle, Ronald Harrell and wife Frances Harrell; cousin, Judith Ansley Daley.
Claudia was preceded in death by her sister Joan Harrell Moore and brother-in-law Horace Eugene Moore, Jr.
