Daniel Widener

Mr. Widener was born to the late Ellis and Margaret Widener in Augusta, GA. Above all, Mr. Widener was a faithful steward of God and was a member of The Bible Chapel in Augusta, GA. He had several careers, however, he was known best as “Dan Dan, The Rent Man” as he was a landlord in Augusta for numerous years. Mr. Widener was a musician for many years and played in a band at the Barnyard Flea Market. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and his CB radio.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Widener is preceded in death by both of his siblings, Artis Widener and Carolyn Hodges. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Joyce Widener; numerous fur babies that he adored; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Monday, October 27, 2025 at The Bible Chapel, 1730 Walker Street, Augusta, GA 30906. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow the service at Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers who will honor Mr. Widener are Jacob Jackson, Michael Smith, Bubba Weeks, Lee Smith, Rylen Weeks, Jacob Crouch and Chuck McDonald.
