Norma Horne Rowe

Mrs. Norma Horne Rowe, of Augusta, GA, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11am at Whole Life Ministries with Dr. Sandra Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Arron Chors, Marvin Head, Danny Starling, Leo Roche, Mark Jacobson, and Jerry Sealy. A lifelong resident of Augusta, GA she was the daughter of the late Earl and Nora Green Horne, Sr. She was a retired court reporter from Richmond County Superior Court. She was a member of Whole Life Ministries. Norma enjoyed reaching out to people through making book marks and sending cards. Her most precious time was spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Robyn Purvis, sisters, Vera Miller, Arline Horne, and brother, Earl Horne, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Rowe, Jr., son, James Rowe, III and his wife Jana, son in law, Dean Purvis and his wife Cathy, grandchildren, Jacob Rowe, Justin Rowe, Emily Rowe, Matthew Rowe, April Purvis, Andrew Purvis, and other family members, Rose Jordan, Velda Schirhart and her husband Eugene, Claude Miller and his wife Ina. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6-8pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be directed to Whole Life Ministries Healing Center, 2621 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30904.
