Delores Berk-Foster slipped away peacefully on March 18th, 2020, Delores was born in Sedilia Missouri, she was born to Stewart Sims and Rebecca Robinson. Her brothers were Lillard Sims and Godfrey Sims which she preceded in death. Following the death of her mother at a young age, Delores was adopted by Minnie Foster- McCallister of Sedilia Mo who raised her into adult hood. Delores graduated from Hubbard High School in 1957, after which she moved to Kanas City Missouri where she pursued her dream to become a nurse. Delores continued to pursue her nursing career in Kansas City Mo after being hired as a full-time nurse at St Joseph Hospital of Kansas City MO, where she met Floyd Nicholson, on August 1st of 1961, she gave birth to their only child, Anthony Ray Foster. Delores and Anthony moved to Denver Colorado in 1968 where she continued to pursue her nursing career by becoming employed with a new and upcoming medical provider, The Kaiser Foundation.
She continued to work hard as a nurse for the Kaiser Foundation as it continued to expand while being a loving and caring single mother, that was devoted to her only child, Anthony. Sometime in her late thirties she was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis, she continued to be a hard worker and a passionate nurse and wonderful mother as this disease took the best of her. On August 12th 1986, she married James Berk who later passed away on December 24th 2007.
Delores was placed in the Aurora Care Center in 2006 as her health began to decline as a result of the Multiple sclerosis, she continued to live out her remaining days at the care center until she quietly slipped away on March 18th.
Delores is survived by her son, Anthony Foster, Daughter-n-law’s, Judith Berk and Brigitte Dolan and her son-n-law Jason Berk. Also, her Granddaughters Anna Foster of Wisconsin and Nicole Foster of Colorado along with a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
