Sunrise, February 25, 1930 – Sunset, February 8, 2015
Nate passed peacefully and lovingly with his family by his side as his body succumbed to heart and renal failure.
He was born in Monterey County and raised in Chular, California where he attended Gonzales HS and then two years at Hartnell Jr. College. He enlisted in the Navy soon after and married Mary Virginia (Ginger) Lewis in September of 1954. They were High School and college friends but found love after Gingers first brief marriage had ended. This dissolved marriage blessed her with a daughter, Charlene (Charlie) M. Hembre. Nate enveloped this fantastic duo as his family with a love that will last forever. In 1962 they added a daughter of their own to the fold, Darlene Mercedes (Mercy) and their family was now complete.
Nate retired from the Navy after 20 years of privileged service and continued his career in the dental equipment field in civilian life. After he reached retirement age he worked as a part time “Ace Hardware man” and loved every minute of it!
His passions went beyond his family. He loved his gardens, football, golf, ships at sea, travel, good music and was the most patriotic man to his country and family! Nate is dearly loved and will be missed by many for his charm, wit and humor. He was indeed a character and noble man!
