OBITUARY

Jessi Wagner

23 October, 1983 – 12 January, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Aurora

Jessica Rose “Jessi” Wagner was born October 23, 1983 to Bert and Lisa Wagner in Wyoming. She had three younger sisters to grow up with; Shannon, Ashlee, and Erin. Jessi grew up loving sports, and as she got older, she held season tickets to multiple Colorado sports teams including the Avalanche and the Rockies.

Jessi obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Wyoming. She worked at several hospitals as a surgical nurse, beginning in Wyoming. She transferred to the University of Colorado for approximately 10 years, then worked as a traveling nurse for another 2 years. During that time, she worked in California, New York City, Florida, and Arizona. She finally returned to Denver and worked at Children's Hospital of Colorado until her death.

Jessi’s patients always loved the comfort she provided before surgery and she will be deeply missed at Children's Hospital. The surgical staff at Children’s treated her very kindly and held a heartwarming tribute to her when they heard of her death.

While traveling as a nurse, Jessi's love of sports became evident when during a San Francisco Giants baseball game, a home run was hit into the Bay, and she was sitting in the bay in a yellow kayak where the ball landed.

Jessi loved her family, her friends, and her co-workers deeply. She also loved the color purple, and those who knew her found she could incorporate that into many parts of her life.

Knowing Jessi was like stepping into sunshine. She had a bright disposition and a generous kindness often missed in the world today.

She is survived by her loving parents, Lisa and Bert Wagner; sisters, Shannon (John), Ashlee (Greg), and Erin; grandmothers, Bonnie, Eloise, and Marilyn; niece, Sydney and nephew, Levi; and cousins, Jordan and Zoe.

She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, and her beloved Aunt Nancy.

Jessi passed away suddenly on January 12, 2021 in Aurora, Colorado. She is gone too soon, but will never be forgotten.
