I met Justin 20 years ago when he moved into the apartment above me. We hit it off immediately and became fast friends. We annoyed his boyfriend with our antics. Justin was a force to be reckoned with. He loved hard, played hard, worked hard, and fought hard. He was absolutely one of my very favorite people, and yet he drove me bonkers.  I never regreted a single adventure though.  He enjoyed pushing the limits, it made him laugh.  Winter nights in Denver, walking home from Charlie's in full length fur coats in the snow, because a little storm wasn't going to keep him from the party. All the festivals and events. Pete's kitchen was breakfast of champions at any hour, day or night. Hitting cars while parallel parking downtown and he would say "I didn't hit them, Stephanie, I love tapped them." while driving my car. He never did leave a mark on any of the cars, mine included. Oklahoma, adventures with Rocky Horror Picture Show live, the center of the earth, cowboy bars, and meeting the amazing Jason at the worlds cutest bar in Tulsa.  Fort Lauderdale; beach days, hilarious walks home from the bars, and the one time he asked me to fly out and paint his and David's roof... I had no idea what I was getting myself into. 2 days of me and Justin painting white tar like paint on every square inch of the tile roof. I still wear those keens because the white stains still make me laugh. Justin and I lived together 3 times over the years, spent holidays with each other's familes, and supported each other through lifes up and downs. He made sure every girl in my sisters wedding looked awesome. It didn't matter where life took us, up until the last 5 years, we met in person  or over the phone weekly for a smoke, cup of coffee and a chat since the day I met him. Justin lived life on his terms and to the fullest.  He loved the finer things in life, his friends, and his dreams. He was a beautiful balance of femininity and masculinity. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Justin was an incredible man, and I will forever cherish the three years we spent together. We created so many happy memories with both his friends and family in Florida, which I will always hold close to my heart.

Justin brought such joy and a sense of adventure into my life, introducing me to new experiences that I will carry with me forever. My love for him is deep and enduring, and he will be greatly missed.

I met Murphy in Florida, he lived across the yard from me when he was with Gary and Sonia.  I have reached out to him in the past few weeks and tonight thought of him and had a sick feeling so I googled and found this. I was in Denver last November visiting him.  I would really like to speak to someone about what happened and wanting to know if the dogs are okay.   I'm just in shock.  I'm so very sorry.
