Akiko was a dear colleague who always enhanced our day with her enthusiasm and knowledge.  I feel very fortunate to have worked with and learned from her.  May she rest in peace.

I have known Akiko as a neighbour, colleague and friend for many years.   I will always remember the many conversations and walks that we shared.  You were a very wise and brave friend who was a lot of fun to spend time with.  I know that you loved your family and friends deeply and we will all miss you so much. I remember the many lunches Akiko and I shared.    We just talked about Maxx and her library experiences.   She will certainly be missed by her family and friends.

I will never forget such a wonderful person.  Akiko was a beautiful lady inside & out.  A true gift & blessing in my life!  I thank God for allowing our lives to touch & I am very happy for all the good times we shared together.  I can still see her sweet smiles, the sparkle in her eyes & hear her cute giggles from when we all got together for someone's birthday lunch.  She always brought great joy to everyone she met.
I will remember Akiko also because she fought until the end, she was a true warrior who always clung to life.  She never gave up, despite the illness she suffered.
Akiko, you left me with a great legacy which taught me to persevere no matter what the circumstances.  Through faith, I am confident to know that your body now is free from all pain & discomfort.  I know from seeing a bright new 'star' in the sky that you arrived at home in Heaven okay.  You are now God's newest 'Angel'!  You definitely earned your wings!  I will forever keep your beautiful memory in my heart.

Akiko lived a life of grace. She was one of the most generous and cultured women I had the privilege to know. I met Akiko in 1981 through our work at Aurora Public Library and after she retired, Akiko continued to serve our community as a Visiting Library Service volunteer, bringing APL to the homebound. Quiet, witty and a wonderful teller of stories -  so many of us will keep her in our memories. 


I first met Akiko when she was working at the Aurora Public Library, one of the friendly and helpful crew at the information desk. As time went on she maintained her cheerful demeanour, despite the great challenges to her health. A tiny but strong woman!
