Dear Anthony,
I remember the first time I set eyes on you, I thought to myself, what a blessing. Your Mom was so lucky to receive such a special gift. Then while looking at you in wonder, I realized I was an Aunt to this tiny beautiful soul.
All of a sudden you were trying to learn how to crawl, as babies do. So your Aunt Chris and I took it upon ourselves to get on our knees and show you how. You giggled at us and gave us one of your beautiful smiles.
Uncle Harry and I loved having you up at our trailer. One day, fishing with Uncle Harry, you caught your first speckled trout. You were beaming when you brought it home to show me. Uncle Harry showed you how to clean the fish and his Newfoundland friend next door showed you how to cook it on an open fire. It was delicious. We were so happy that you loved coming to stay with us. You even brought your friends sometimes.
I think you were about 10 years old, we were at one of your many baseball games. I remember your Aunt Chris and I cheered you on much to loudly, so your Mom told us. We were so proud of you.
As time passed the next thing I knew you were off to school which you excelled at especially in math just like our Dad, the grandfather you never got to know.
Then your accident happened and I truly believe your Mother nourished you with so much love that you came back to life. I am so grateful your Mom was blessed with more time to spend with you because she loved you to the moon and back.
Great sadness fills my heart that you have been taken from us. I can't believe, that this is real, that I will no longer see your smile, hear your laugh or hold you. You were such a kind, gentle soul. But the reality is I do know it's true.
Your Uncle Harry and I were truly blessed to have been a part of your life.
I'm sure our Dad, your Grandfather and our brother Michael will be waiting for you with open arms.
Love Always & Forever,
Your Auntie Debbie & Uncle Harry
xoxo
