I was saddened to learn about the passing of my UWO friend Bruce Shiga. I was awed by his appreciation of fine art and the critical eye on on display in his gallery reviews for 20cents Magazine. Also, I have very fond memories of late evening dinners in London, Ontario’s Chinese restaurants . I do wish that we had stayed in touch but am delighted that he had a successful career, a loving family and good friends. /tony penikett

I met Bruce at the Aurora Swimming Pool in September 2008; I am so glad to get to know Bruce through his wonderful smile and we always share a laugh here and there. I was extremely saddened by his passing that word could not express; Bruce, may your soul rest in peace!

It was with great sadness that I learned of Mr. Shiga’s passing.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.  Mr. Shiga was my principal at both St. Benedict Elementary School and at Father Michael McGiveny.
