

Ragged Harbour, Newfoundland September 28, 1959. Cecil passed peacefully away at Southlake Regional Hospital, on February 15, 2016, surrounded by the love of his family and friends, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend Judy, along with his two children Mindy (Dave) and Cecile. Cecil also leaves behind his siblings, Linda; Brian (Dale); Shawn (Sharon); Morris (Cheryl-ann); Rodney (Donna); Rick; Maxine (Billy). Predeceased by his parents Max and Venice. He will be also be greatly missed by his mother-in-law Margaret and predeceased by his father-in-law Malcolm, his sister-in-law Donna (Perry), and brothers-in-law Jerry (Shirley); Malcolm (Shirley); and predeceased by his brother-in-law Julian (Darlene). Cecil is also survived by many of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews to whom he always provided love, support and guidance.
He was a kind and caring person who positively impacted the lives of the many people he touched. He always took the time to listen give encouragement and advice, often when it was needed most. Everyone who knew Cecil was aware of his passion for his Boston Bruins and his home province of Newfoundland.
The family will be forever grateful to all the nurses and doctors at Southlake Regional Hospital who provided outstanding care and compassion to both Cecil and his family during this hard time in his life.
Visiting will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home (530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora) on Friday, February 19th, 2016 between 7-9pm and on Saturday February 20th, 2016 between 1-2pm. A Funeral Service will then be held in the chapel at 2o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Cecil had a heart of gold who will be terribly missed but never forgotten.
