

Deigan, Charles Arthur – Passed away on August 5, 2012 at age 92. Former teacher at Northview Heights Secondary School, Central High School of Commerce, and other schools including Tokoroa High School in New Zealand. He loved to participate in and coach sports, and held the Toronto Parks Department senior record for hop, skip, and jump for many years from 1937. Former employee, Toronto Hydro. WWII veteran with RCAF. Author of Business Office Simulation System and Developing Office Typing Skills.
Survived by wife Brenda, children Russell Deigan, Glenda Deigan, and Eric (and Melinda) Deigan, grandchildren Monica Wappel, Christopher (and Andrea) Wappel, Veronica (and Mark) Conway, Victoria (and Paul) Cade, Vanessa Wappel, Katie Deigan, Mike Deigan, and Maggie Deigan, as well as great-grandchildren Brooke, Lanna, and Nolan Wappel.
Predeceased by parents Rose (Schwartz) and Francis Thomas Deigan, and brother Frank Deigan. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephew, Lynn Rogers, Sandra Smallwood, and John Deigan, and their children.
The family would like to thank the Newmarket Health Centre, and in particular the doctors, David, and all the staff at 2 South for their loving care.
At his request, cremation has taken place. A private gathering of immediate family celebrated his life. Any memorial donations in his honor to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, the Diabetes Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
