Peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, Christine Victoria Gunter passed August 11, 2026 in Aurora, Ontario. With strength and conviction she fought her battle with cancer till the end. Christine will be remembered for her joking personality, her kindness and her love of people. She loved her county ( a very proud Canadian ), she loved trivia, and she loved to talk. These attributes greatly aided her in her love of being a tour guide. A natural extrovert Christine was involved in her churches York Pines and King City United Church. She sang in the choirs and was a part of committees at York Pines.
In May 2025, having been diagnosed with multiple cancers, Christine entered Park Place retirement home in Aurora where she became an ambassador. Welcoming new residents and showing them the ropes of retirement living. She was much loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed. A special thank you to the palliative care team at Southlake Health in Newmarket for helping Christine remain comfortable through the past one and a half years, and to the wonderful caring folks at Park Place who gave back to her all the love she gave to them.
A Funeral Service will be held at King City United Church, 50 Elizabeth Grove, King, ON, L7B 1H7, CA, on August 22, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Reception at the same location on August 22, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
