ROGERS, Dennis James February 9, 1969 – May 2, 2019 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dennis. DJ will forever be remembered as the life of every party but more over as the reason for the party. Loving husband to Tracey (nee Westbrook), father to Jenna (Matthew), and Gregory. Cherished son of Norma Rankin (Frank Carter) and Robert and Marilou Rogers. Son-in-law of Judy and Ken Westbrook. Much-loved brother to David (Lisa), Jay and Jon. Outstanding uncle to Jacob (Carly) and Jessica. Step-uncle to Tiana, Ciara, and Keisean. I knew Dennis since public school. I can't remember DJ ever saying an unkind word about anyone! Joyful and enthusiastic, he was the "host with the most" since a very young age, something I suspect he learned from his dad. Epic pig roasts and one part of the cutest high school couple ever! Xo

Dennis I know you can hear us just as we can still hear you if we close our eyes. So you must be overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and loss we all feel now and the outrage that we feel as you were taken from this world so young. There are really so few people with your energy, your charisma, your style, your generosity and your charm in this life and you will remain forever as a larger-than-life legend and always in our memories, Dennis.
You should not be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten.

Tracey, Jenna and Gregory, we, the Anderson family, Greg, Charlene, Rachel and Andrew are so sad to hear of DJ’s passing. DJ was a wonderful person and truly was the life of the party. This is such a huge loss and such a shock. We send our love and strength for you all to face this hard time. Hugs to you all. We are thinking of you.

When Dennis and Tracey were in high school, Dennis kept asking Tracey out and she kept saying no. One day Dennis called me and said “Please get Tracey to say yes next time I ask her out and I promise you one date will be all it takes”, so I did and he was right. For those who knew Dennis, you will have to agree he made everyone’s life more fun. He was kind and very generous to everyone and and an important person in our family. We miss you and love you Dennis.

Our nephew-in-law is one of the kindest and biggest personalities our family gets to enjoy. Nothing was ever to big or to small to do for someone. Rest In Peace Dennis. It is a privilege to have you as part of our family. You will always be remembered as we tell each other DJ stories. ❤️❤️

Our family, Jane and Kaylee would like to extend our sincere condolences from our family to yours. We will not be able to make the service as Jane and I are traveling for business and Kaylee is in school in the UK but we wanted to say hello. I saw a video yesterday of Keanu Reeves speaking with Stephen Colbert. At the end of the interview Colbert asked Keanu out of the blue about what he thinks happens when you die. Reeves pondered silently for a moment and said "the people who love you, miss you" Colbert smiled broadly at the truth of that statement and shook his hand with no further comment. In that simple truth nothing more needed to be said.

I’m so sorry for the sudden loss of Dennis “DJ” . Although many years have past since playing rugby for Dunbarton / Ajax wanderers; DJ always made me feel a part of an extended family.

When Bob and Mary Lou purchased waterfalls lodge near my reservation it was even more Magical since my relatives got the opportunity to experience this welcoming feeling.

I on behalf of my family wish to express our deepest condolences for your loss of a dear son, husband, and friend.

Over that past 10 years I've had the pleasure of being the Rogers family Travel Agent, I have really enjoyed working with Dennis and Tracey on a regular basis. Dennis was always kind and respectful, and had such a wonderful sense of humour. He could always make me laugh and perk up a rough day at the office, he was also well liked by all of my colleagues for the same reasons’.

The holidays he was always so passionate about often came to him at the cottage, while having a great time surrounded by friends and family! I will miss these enthusiastic calls and the trust and respect he showed me throughout the years. His amazing personality and generous nature will be greatly missed and my heart is truly heavy for his wife and children.

Rest in Peace Dennis
