She will be sadly missed by her husband of 75 years, Lucien L'Ecuyer.
Survived by her loving children, John (Pat) and Ellen (predeceased by Michael Levesque). Cherished grandma to Kathy Korbaylo (Kevin) and great-grandma to Claire and James. Doris will be very fondly remembered by a few generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, their families, and many dear friends.
She was born on March 29, 1929 in Montreal to Irish immigrants and was the youngest of the 'Daly Dynasty', predeceased by 8 siblings: John, Nancy, Rosie, Philip, Annie, William, Julia, Eileen.
Growing up in a multicultural Montreal neighbourhood, she became bilingual, was a working mom, retiring in 1989 from Ogilvie Flour Mills Head Office,a division of Labatt's. Her and Lucien moved to Aurora, Ontario in 2001.
She will be remembered for her feisty character, her joie de vivre, her Irish charm and sense of fashion. Always a straight shooter, many will remember the 'index finger of advice'. She will be missed.
Special thanks to our family physician,Dr. Hindocha for his 20+ years of care, the staff at Kingsway Place and especially her long time PSW, Wanda, and the doctors and nurses at Southlake for their care.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montreal at a time to be determined.
