It’s so very sad to write about the passing of a best friend.  

How did we run into each other?  Actually, Eileen ran into ME on the baseball field at our school in Crystal Springs, Saskatchewan, and wound up in the hospital!  (I guess I was a bit ‘sturdier’.)  But our friendship deepened over the years, going to school together, sharing lunches (thank you, dear Eileen, for all those hot mushroom soups shared in the minus-40-degree days at the schoolhouse), and going to Saturday night dances every chance we got.  She was ALWAYS sharing what she had – with everyone she met!  No one was kinder nor more generous!

I loved the “sleepover” nights of nonstop giggling we shared in her family’s farmhouse in Tway (Sask) and the wonderful times we had in Santa Barbara, Palm Springs and Mexico (and that cruise around the Maritimes!)

Her passing leaves a HUGE hole in our hearts (and Woody’s, too, we know). 


More than 40 years ago I met Eileen and we remained friends ever since.

We worked together at BC Instruments, partied at each others homes and even went to the casino the last couple of years until it closed. Anything to get away for a few hours.

For those of you who knew Eileen you know she was more than willing to help anyone whenever she could . On rare occasions she might ask someone for a favor. Like picking her up from her mechanics. 

I am certainly going to miss Eileen - our little outings as well as our daily chats on the phone.

Eileen, your dream of going back to Saskatchewan has been fulfilled. Rest in peace.

Eileen and my wife, Norma, met in 1975 when we moved to Aurora.  They became great friends and worked many years together doing income taxes.  She later was the book keeper for our company, B&L Electric Motors And Pump Service. Our families became great friends and spent a lot of time together.  Whether it was with bonfires at the Williams home to pool parties at our house.  Thanks to Eileen we all got to see many concerts at Casino Rama. I will miss you and I know that everyone you had contact with will miss you also.  God bless you.

To my dear friend Eileen. You were my second Mom, my treasured friend and my valued confident. You taught me many things. You talked me into going on my first date with my, now husband. Thank you for that. 
You know how much I hated tax stuff lol, and you made that easy for me and for so many others too. I'm so glad we got to do so many things together. 
I will miss your friendship terribly.

I am incredibly sad to hear of the passing of my ex mother-in-law and my son's grama.  Eileen was a special part of mine and my son's life for many years.  Even through distance, we stayed connected until a couple years ago.  She was a lovely, giving lady and I feel blessed to have known her.  RIP Eileen. We love you.
