Born in Ruma, Yugoslavia, Franz immigrated to Canada 70 years ago with little more than determination and a strong work ethic. He built a life from the ground up, founding his own company specializing in tool and die and engraving. Through decades of hard work and craftsmanship, he turned that small business into a success and became known for his skill, integrity, and tireless dedication.
Dad taught us the value of hard work, resilience, and taking pride in what you build with your own hands. He worked hard his whole life so his family could have better opportunities, and he did very well for himself because of it.
He is survived by his former wife, Katharina, with whom he shared a lifelong friendship, his two children, Alfred, (Sidona) and Margaret, (Allen), and two beloved grandchildren, Michael and Isabelle, who were the light of his life. Also mourning his passing are Sidona's children, Jennifer and Jessica and their children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Dad/Opa. Your legacy of hard work, love, and generosity that will live on in us.
Private arrangements have been made.
