Frieda was a wonderful and kind mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. I will always remember her artistic talents, her loving personality and her beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts go out to the family and friends.

Your Mum was a lovely, funny, incredibly strong woman. I'm heartbroken for the loss you are now dealing with. May her voice always be the one you hear when you need it most.

Tante Frieda was one of a kind!!  She was an inspiration to many.  Not only was she my god-mother, she was like my second mom.  I remember when I went to college, moving back to Aurora from London, I had to quickly learn to cook, there were many a days when I would your mom and ask how do I make this, how do I that and no matter how busy she was, she took the time to talk me through step by step.  One occassion, I wanted to make meatball soup, I called Tante Frieda and she said, "I'm making some tomorrow, it's Uncle Jeff's favorite,come for dinner and we'll make it together", the secret is the small meat balls.

Tante Frieda was also a great friend to mom (Riek), always making sure that she was included, whether it was going to Bowmanville together making the rounds at the Gerrits, or a card game somewhere, on behalf of my entire family, we will be forever greatful to your mom.

Tante Frieda will be missed, but will forever be in our hearts with the fondest of memories, she was simply a terrific woman, who was admired by all.

Betsy, Frank, Rick and Donna, we are so sorry for your loss.  Your mom was such an amazing lady that touched so many lives.  Your mom painted a picture of a barn on burlap for our wedding gift 35 years ago.  It's still hanging at our cottage.  We love it.

Times like this it is hard to see past the sorrow, but I hope reflecting on the wonderful memories and pictures that you all have shared in the photo gallery will help you see the light again. Our deepest sympathies for your lost.

The tears fill my eyes thinking of Frieda leaving us.  She always had big hugs for us and showed genuine interest in what our family was up to.  I loved our chats on the cottage deck.  She was a warm soul and I only hope to age so gracefully.

Someone who touched as many as Frieda did, as warmly as she did, can never truly be gone from this world.

Frieda was a wonderful life long friend to my Mom, Mary (Riet) and in more recent years to my Dad, Frank. They had a lot of fun together over the years and Frieda was always at all of our family gatherings. She was a sweet lady. I'm so sorry for your loss.

She was a wonderful, wonderful women who knew her way around a deck of cards. She will be greatly missed.

Though sadly missed, she will be remembered in our hearts.

Frieda had a beautiful way of truly listening. Loving, caring, talented and gracious were just a few of her special attributes.  But then all who knew her already know that.

We're very sorry to hear that Frieda passed away. We were very fortunate to have known her and remember her as a very warm and special lady who was a true friend. We never forget our first time in Canada where we immediately felt we were part of her family. We will miss her and will always keep memories of her in our hearts. We will miss her smile.

Freida's Passing has rocked my Mother's world. A friendship that started with 4 in 1969 is now 1. They were neighbours and dearest friends. Every year started with Dinner and Games on New Years Eve.
We wish you all sincere condolences, and her paintings will always have a place of honour in our home. Saul and Susan Alexander and with much love and respect Cathy Heath.

I am utterly heartbroken and saddened at hearing of Frieda's passing this morning. Frieda, for me, was one of the most down to earth, loving, gracious and most giving woman I had ever met.  My sisters and I first became acquainted with Frieda in 2009, when she came to visit my Mom and Dad who had recently transported themselves from the Gaspe Coast of Quebec to Newmarket, due to Dad's kidney failure and health issues.  From the moment we met Frieda, we were all in love with her stories, her vitality for life, her incredible artistic endeavors and open mindedness.  I felt as though I had met the most amazing woman, and after Dad died in 2010, and my relocation to Canada from New York City in 2012 due to health reasons, Frieda soon became my ally and confident during my first year back.  She was such a tremendous support to me as I strove to heal myself and her advice was always constant, but never critical.  Her love for her family was strong as she often spoke highly about every single person - never once uttering a negative comment. I will miss her forever and believe that she was granted angel wings when she left this world.  She will be sorely missed.

We would like to send our condolences to the family, Aunt Frieda will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts and in our memories.
