Harold passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday March 14, 2018 in his 88th year.
He was born in Culross County, Ontario on August 18, 1930 to the late Otto Perry and Myra Jane (Taylor) Pennington.
Harold is survived by his wife, Delores Louise Hamilton, whom he married on August 15, 1953. Harold devoted his personal life to her, his high school sweetheart, and together they raised 3 children, Brian; Brenda (Dan) Asselin and Barry (Ruth). His cherished grandchildren are Vicki (Josh) and Derek Asselin; Andrew (Jess), Michael (Laura) and Myra Pennington.
Harold is also survived by his brother Russell E. Pennington and his daughter Maureen; sister-in-law Ruth Ann and her children A.J., Danica, and Carole Ann, and husband Garry Patterson; nephew Jeff and niece Julie Jones, brother-in-law Douglas Hamilton and numerous other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Harold is predeceased by his sister Jean and her husband Wallace Bell, sister-in-law Alice (MacFarlane) Pennington, nephew John Gregory Pennington; and sister-in-law Phyllis (Hamilton, Jones) Cowan.
Harold was a successful businessman and entrepreneur and still found time to enjoy activities such as curling and golf. He was an avid Toronto sports fan.
Harold led a long, healthy prosperous life conducted with a strong work ethic, compassion for others, and a wonderful sense of wit. His heartfelt advice influenced all that knew him.
A Visitation for Harold will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8.
A Funeral Service will take place at Thompson Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel.
