There are many things that I could write about Harry, but none of them would truly capture how larger than life he was as a person, and the level of warmth, generosity, and spirit he shared with everyone he knew.  

I had the pleasure of going to school with Harry from when we were kids at St. Andrew's College up until graduation. Harry and I played rugby together at the school, and it was one of the greatest memories I have of the school. He was always passionate about sports, especially rugby, and was one of the stars of our team back in those days. He always used to say when we were kids how much he wanted everyone on the team to stay together all the way through school - he talked about older students at the school and how all of them had played rugby and football together the entire time they were at the school. 

Along with Brett Wilson and others, we formed a religion in his honour called Harrison Kaneism, partly because of the good times and laughs Harry had with everyone, but also because there was very much nobody else who you could pick for that honour. Nobody with more of a good nature or kindness. It was because of his goodness, and all because of the larger than life ideals he represented through his good character and loving nature.

One thing all of us have said to each other who knew Harry through the years is that he was truly one of the kindest souls we had ever known - he was someone who only wanted good things for other people, and he lived that way. We are all devastated by this tragic and untimely loss, but I know that his soul is still shining bright and that he is finding peace in Heaven. 

My sincerest thoughts and feelings are with his family at this time.

It was our first day of school at SAC that I met Harry, and we became friends instantly.

Looking back over the course of our friendship, I can't help but smile at the good times we shared. It's been a heavy few days processing his loss, as he was such a bright light with such a good heart.

We shared many things in common: each having a twin sister, our inability to be good students at school, our love of being the centre of attention, and the joy we found in making others laugh and enjoy the present.

In middle school, he somehow always found a way to be part of the core story and reason we all had such fun. We even developed a religion around him - Harrison Kaneism.

In upper school, we shared plenty of good times in drama, on sports teams, and in every moment we could find to have fun. One highlight was a Focus play in Grade 12, a tribute to SNL where he played Sean Connery and I played Alex Trebek / Will Ferrell for a Jeopardy sketch, it was a hit.

After St. Andrew's, when I took a break from university, I worked with Harry and his family at County Appliances. We spent many days laughing and singing our hearts out, driving around in the delivery truck, just boys being boys.

As he grew his long hair and goatee out into a model-like look, we developed a new character for him to play: Haansel Kaan. I'll never forget the day we brought him skiing up north and he ripped straight down a double black diamond on his first try with no fear. The ladies were impressed with this magnificent-looking individual and his long, luscious flow.

Time separated us, and I hadn't spoken to him for almost a decade, but recently I got a chance to catch up with him in June.

He shared insight into his spiritual understanding of life and his knowing of what lies beyond this incarnation here on Earth, which gives me comfort knowing he's at peace and off to his next adventure, with new opportunities for his soul to grow.

It's hard to even know where to start because the Kane family is woven into so many of my childhood memories. From meeting through dance when we were all little, to our families becoming friends and eventually feeling more like family, to spending summers together at the Kane family cottage on Balsam Lake — there are just so many memories that have lasted a lifetime. Harry was like a little brother to me growing up, and I will always think of him that way.

Harry was such a character and an absolute joy to be around. He was goofy and thoughtful, incredibly talented, and just the brightest light in any room. All of my memories of Harry bring a smile to my face because he really didn't care how he looked or whether he needed to impress anyone — he was just Harry. He wanted to live in the moment, have fun and make you laugh.

I will never forget him learning the *Single Ladies* dance by Beyoncé and going FULL FORCE with his performances (and honestly, probably doing it better than most of us), or watching him perform in the various plays at SAC. He had so much personality and talent and was never afraid to just go for it.

We had countless hours of fun and laughter growing up, and those are memories I will always be grateful for.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to know that Harry is no longer here on Earth blessing everyone with his humour, talents and presence. Debbie, Doug, Sarah, Fred, Jakki and Shelby, I can't begin to imagine what you are all going through or how enormous this loss must feel.

I am so incredibly sorry. Harry was truly one of a kind, and I feel very lucky to have known him, grown up with him, and loved him like a little brother. Harry, I hope you know that you were incredibly loved. ❤️
