Helen Frances Kranczoch

We will be forever grateful for the wonderful care Helen received from the staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Southlake Hospital and Dr. Mulhern. We would like to thank Dr. Zibdawi for the immunotherapy treatment she received at The Stronach Cancer Centre, which gave her a wonderful year-long remission.

Helen was the beloved daughter of Harry Bazos who came to Canada from Greece in 1929 and Irene Bazos (nee Adams) who came to Canada from Yugoslavia in 1917. Helen married Henry Kranczoch in 1969 and they enjoyed a long, loving and very devoted relationship. She was the dear mother of Alan Kranczoch (Debbie), Harry Kranczoch, Flora Mainolfi (Joe), and Jason Kranczoch (Tamara), and a proud and doting grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Heather, Jenny, Orie, Kayla, Adrian, Tyler, Chloe and Delilah, Lyah and Nathyn, and Lauryl. Helen was predeceased by her brother Tony Bazos and is mourned by her sister Fran Bazos, sister-in-law Vickie Bazos, her nephews and nieces, Chris Bazos (Melanie), Laurie Smith (Joe), Martha Bazos (Iain) and Irene Bazos and their children Tyler, Jessica and Hailey Smith, Brooke Bazos and Harry Bazos.

Whiteway Industrial Linen Supply was a family business founded by Harry Bazos in 1934 and was a central part of the Bazos Family until its closing in 2001. It is also the place where Henry and Helen met and fell in love.

Helen lived a big and fun-filled life. She was deeply loved by many friends and extended family, including those from Tucson, which was a second home to us growing up. She was a generous and loving woman who will be remembered for her laughter and unfailing sense of humour. Helen was a force! There is no other way to describe her. When she walked into a room the energy ratcheted up. She always had this huge smile that radiated her sense of mischief. And energy, she had the energy of 20 people, always on the move. She was twice President of the Daughters of Penelope from 1988 to 1990, and again in 1997 to 1998. Helen organized many fund-raising events with the Daughters of Penelope to help build the first Hellenic Home for the Aged in Toronto, personally making clothes for fashion shows and going door-to-door to raise money even when 9 months pregnant. Nothing stopped her! Helen was a founding member of St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and the first President of St. Nicholas Philoptohos. Helen will be sorely missed by her family and many friends and all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Helen will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8. Memorial service Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Thompson Funeral Home.
