

With his family at his side Howard died peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket, on August 19, 2026. He will be deeply missed by Jill his loving wife of 57 years, his daughter Susan (Wayne), his sons Mike, Peter, Thomas (Annabel), Jim (Carolyn) his grandchildren Ben (Carly), Krystle (Kevin), Justin (Kylie), Spencer, Victoria, Kennedy, Terrence, Grace, Alyssia, Leah and Hazel and great grandchildren, Nolan, Jack, and Griffin. Sadly missed also by his brother Sandy (Diane).
Howard was born in Toronto and moved to Aurora with his wife Jill in 1970. He worked at Bell Canada for 30 years and after an early retirement from Bell he built a successful career in Real Estate. He was also the proud owner of Gwillimbury Hills daycare for more than 20 years.
Howard loved his family, his friends, his cottage, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and playing euchre. He was a staunch supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and the Argos. He and Jill enjoyed wonderful travel around Canada the United States, Europe and Australia. Howard was very happy to celebrate his 90th birthday with many family members and friends less than two weeks before his death. He lived a long well fulfilled life. May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON, L4G6W8, CA, on August 24, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15347 Yonge St, Aurora, ON, L4G 1N7, CA, on August 25, 2026, at 11:00 am. Family Interment at Aurora Cemetery to follow.
The family would like to invite guests to the reception at Thompson Funeral Home beginning at 12:30 p.m. following the Funeral Mass on Tuesday August 25, 2026.
