If the round should start without me
because I’ve passed away
Cherish the swings that we once made
and please continue to play
For I’ll be watching from a gallery
with a magnificent view
With friends and family from the past
all cheering with pride for you
May each tricky putt find the hole
your drives fly far and straight
And when you’ve taken your final shot
let’s meet at Heaven’s Gate
I’ll have a tee time booked for us
on the grandest course of all
And we’ll go golfing once again
chasing that little white ball
David Ritter
Paul passed away on Tuesday November 4, 2025, in his home with Sandi by his side. Paul will be greatly missed and will be remembered for his generosity, love of family, thoughtfulness and living life on his own terms.
Paul, Dad, also known affectionately as 'Bris', 'Brisy' and Grampa Bris, was the son of George and Janet Brisbois (both deceased). Father (with Lois Brisbois) to Louise Brisbois (Graeme Schmidt), Annie Snow (John Snow), Janine Brisbois (Jeff Browne). Partner to Sandi Campbell and her children Charlie Campbell and Carly Campbell. Grandfather to Matthew & Cameron Schmidt, Cas & Stella Snow, Max, Fisher & Molly Browne, Lillian, Piper & Autumn Campbell. Brother to Elaine Durham (Dunc Durham, deceased), Elly Brisbois (deceased).
He grew up in North Toronto and helped his parents with the family business, Brisbois Pharmacy, in the early days doing deliveries on his bike. He attended St Michael's College School and University of Toronto and then became a Chartered Accountant at Thorne Mulholland , then moving to Wood Gundy, before joining First Marathon as a trader. He built a successful career at First Marathon Securities Inc. as a founding partner and Senior Vice President and stayed through the acquisition by National Bank until his retirement at age 75. He made many friends in the industry with his charming and entertaining personality, and he loved to follow the markets. He was a disciplined early riser to prepare for the opening bell at 9:30am. In his later years he continued his early morning habits and made daily phone calls to check in with his loved ones before the day got going.
Bris was an avid sportsman including hockey and curling at The Royal and Thornhill G&CC with his parents, sisters, and friends. But his true passion was golf, a passion he shared with his parents. Bris was a charter member of Beacon Hall Golf Club and served on the Board of Directors for several years. So many lasting friendships were developed on the course and in the club house! Golf also provided for many great trips including to Bermuda and The Masters. In retirement Bris enjoyed hosting his Masters Sunday viewing party at his home, sometime wearing his spiffy green jacket, this event will be a cherished memory for his extended family. He continued to attend 'The Legends Lunch' weekly at the Club through his later retirement years and kept his friendships up with phone calls and visits.
Paul and Sandi enjoyed travelling and entertaining at their home, Brokenwood in Aurora, and were so generous about hosting all major celebrations and annual occasions. Bris loved his dogs and walking the fields of his property, a tradition all of his family continue to enjoy. Bris was the biggest fan of his girls and grandkids; he came out to their many activities over the years starting with synchronized swimming which all his daughters competed in and then supported his grandkids and gave them big hugs and firm handshakes. His eyes would light up hearing what they were all up to and never missed a birthday.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beacon Hall Golf Club 400 Beacon Hall Drive, Aurora on Sunday, November 30 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with remembrances at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory to Southlake Health Foundation, CAMH, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one's choice .
