Jodine Marie Smith

Jodine Marie Smith, 56, of Aurora, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 11, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her most. Born on October 2, 1967, to John and Gill Smith, Jodine felt deeply connected to the place and people she called home.

Known for her boundless kindness, sharp sense of humour, and deep love for the simple joys of life, Jodine's presence brought warmth to every room she entered. She had a particular fondness for England, often indulging her love of history with tales of its rich past, and could often be found relaxing by a crackling fire, lost in thought or conversation.

Jodine’s greatest joy was found in her relationships with others. As a dedicated friend, a loving aunt, and a pillar of her community, she radiated warmth and sincerity. Her quick smile and appreciation for nature reflected her belief in savouring life’s quieter moments. Jodine's wit was unmatched, always ready to lighten the mood with a clever remark or heartfelt story.

She is survived by her mother, Gillian, her beloved brother and sister in law, Gerry and Frances, her chosen sister Tracey, her nieces and nephew, Mackenzie, Madyson and Quinn, along with her close friends who were like family to her, Jeremy, Denise, Madelyn, Rhonda, Kat, Maria and many others. Jodine was preceded in death by her father, John, who passed in 2010, and whose memory she honoured with a life lived full of love and kindness.

A celebration of life for Jodine will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and celebrating the beautiful life Jodine led.
