It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Gordon St. Germain, a loving husband, fabulous father, the absolute best Grandpa, and respected principal. John was born on January 20, 1941, in Windsor, Ontario, and passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 84.
Throughout his career in education, working in Windsor, Malton, and Bolton, John touched countless lives as a principal and mentor, leading with integrity, kindness, and a steady belief in the potential of every student and colleague. His guidance extended far beyond the classroom.
Outside of his professional life, John found joy on the golf course, where he appreciated both the challenge of the game and the friendships it fostered. If he wasn’t playing golf, he was watching it. Music was another passion; he loved playing the guitar, often filling quiet moments with song and bringing warmth to those around him. Above all, John was a devoted family man who enjoyed calling for family meetings and storytelling. He was a great listener. His love, wisdom, and steady presence were the foundation of his family’s life, and his legacy lives on through them.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his leadership, generosity of spirit, and the many lives he shaped along the way.
Left to mourn are his wife of almost 65 years, Joy, his daughter Michelle who passed away in 2023, son John (Tracey), and grandchildren Ryan (Mia) and Jamie.
Surviving siblings are Gerry St. Germain, Kenny St. Germain (Geraldine), and Christine St. Germain. Deceased siblings are Pauline Gottwald (John), Bob St. Germain (Brenda), and Raymond (Metro) Stebel. John leaves many cherished nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the caregivers at Willows Estate.
