Johnny Pelligra

He leaves behind his loving wife Reny; his beautiful children, Chris and Corina; his treasured granddaughters, Alexandria (Adriano) and Vanessa, and the apple of his eye and great-grandson, Romeo.

Born in Sicily, Italy, January 5, 1935 to Giuseppe and Corradina Pelligra, he was the second of three sons.

He loved his birth country but after immigrating to Canada at the age of 15, he embraced his new country with passion and began his new life.

In the 1960s he took on the task of running a paving company. It would eventually become his own and modern paving would “pave” the way to a successful life for himself and his family.

John was always smiling, telling jokes, fixing problems, debating anything and anyone. He loved dancing and singing and even gave Elvis a run for his money (okay maybe not lol) but a close second!

His biggest love was his wife Reny whom he married on July 19th, 1958. Their love for each other never diminished over the 67 years together.

His family began with the arrival of his son Chris and then his daughter Corina. His beautiful granddaughters Alex and Vanessa were his treasures that finally made him a very happy Nonno. His dream was to become a Great Nonno and it came true on November 3rd, 2024. His precious Romeo was born.

He leaves a very rich legacy and was such an inspiration to so many people. John will be fondly remembered and terribly missed.

A visitation for John will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8. A reception following service will occur Monday, October 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
