It was with great sadness that I was informed of the passing of dear Auntie Joyce.I often think of all the good times we spent together,especially the time when I dug a large hole in the garden and covered it over and Joyce's mother then fell into it,mind you I was only 10 then.She was mothers best friend ans she and Uncle Ken often went on holidays to France,Italy and Germany.
However Auntie Joyce is now at peace with the Lord, no pain or suffering but will be sadly missed.

Dear Patricia, your news this weekend came as a shock, particularly as we had only a few days earlier said we should make the effort to visit Canada, and try to find out from 'Aunty' Joyce some more exploits of her early life before and during the war with Olive, one of her oldest friends.  Each time in the past visits, during tea, we would explore old photographs and hear stories never heard before.  Your mother was a very special lady, who lived and experienced very different times from today, who will be missed by all who knew her.

Words cannot express how treasured Joyce has been in my life and how much she will be missed. I am forever grateful that both Joyce and Trish have shared as family with me and others. They have been very kind loving and supportive and encouraging along life's journey with Joyce.Joyce's caring and thoughtfulness were extended in love and interest to my children as they have grown up.  It was so wonderful to share Joyce as a true life mentor of a proper lovely British woman for my girls...yes, they now understand the social benefits of tea time and will miss their mother's dear friend as they know her deep value.Trish,you have loved and served faithfully as an only daughter. You have also kindly assisted the development and sharing of friendships for your mother and through your mother to all of our benefit. Thank you for your generosity. She will be greatly missed by you and your family and by those who have benefited so greatly by her love and friendship.

'Aunty' Joyce was Mother's (Olive Salaman) oldest and dearest friend with friendship dating back to wartime years. She (and 'Uncle' Ken) consequently became a part of our family likewise over the next seventy years and will be sadly missed by all remaining family members. We all fondly remember all the good times we had together over this life span. May She Rest In Peace.

Trish: We are so sorry to hear the news. We both know the emptyness you are feeling right now and undestand the space it has left in your life. We remember the many conversations we had with your Mom and she was truely blessed to have a daughter who loved and cared for her though so many of life's challenges.
