Over a lifetime marked by steady devotion and quiet strength. Her compassion was not reserved for special occasions; it was a daily practice, offered with patience, dignity, and a sincere attentiveness to others.
Julia served as a RN at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for 42 years, finishing her career in endoscopy. In this work, her calling as a caretaker was evident—grounded in skill, responsibility, and the kind of calm presence that reassures and steadies those in her care.
Julia was the wife and co-pilot of Paul Mellor for 23 years. Together they shared road trips and the pleasure of wintering in Florida, building a life shaped by partnership and constancy. At home, her devoted nature shone through in the care she extended to family and neighbours, and in the beauty she cultivated through gardening and home décor—done with a flair said to rival Martha Stewart.
Julia was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Patricia, and her brother, Tommy.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON, L4G 6W8, Canada, on June 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
