Ferry, Kimberly Anne (nee Armstrong) Dear wife of Don Ferry, loving Mother of Zachary, Megan and Matthew. Daughter of Tom Armstrong and the late Jacqueline Armstrong. Sister of John Armstrong and wife Lorraine. Kim Ferry was known throughout Aurora as the woman with the infectious smile, a larger than life personality and a big heart. Alas, her big heart was not strong enough and we lost Kim on March 2, 2018, surrounded by her family and closest friends at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket. Kim was born on July 16, 1966 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto. As a child Kim lived in Galt and a few different neighbourhoods of Mississauga where she made many life-long friends. Kim met her husband at the Erindale Campus of U of T in 1987 and married in 1990. Their 30-year journey together brought them into contact with many groups of good friends from Rogers, IBM, the Richmond Hill gang on Ritva Court, her co-workers and customers at Oakridge Outfitters and our dear set of friends on Mahogany Court in Aurora. If you lived in our neighbourhood, you got to know Kim. If you needed that special outfit, the women of Aurora knew they could count on Kim to find them something that worked for them. Kim was the gatekeeper of Mahogany Court. If you didn’t see her there, you would see her out for her daily run in her bright coral coloured outfit. She was an active and involved parent at Highview Public School and Dr G Williams Secondary School. She raised Zach, Megan and Matthew in that neighbourhood to be the outstanding, caring, young adults that they are. There were also countless hours at the hockey arenas and tournaments with Aurora Minor Hockey and Georgina Girls Hockey. Kim was always the loudest, most positive cheering Momma in the crowd. In the summer you could hear Kim cheering her kids on at the soccer pitch and the baseball diamond. We will all miss her warm smile and big hugs.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm on Thursday March 8 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Aurora. A celebration of life will be held on Friday March 9 at King's Riding Golf Club, 14700 Bathurst St, King City from 7pm to 9pm with tributes starting at 8pm. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make donations to Zach’s involvement with the Walk for Southlake via the link: http://srhcf.convio.net/site/TR?team_id=2122&fr_id=1381&pg=team
