Peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family, Lisa passed away on March 18, 2021.

Lisa will be forever remembered by her husband of almost 34 years, Bruce; son, Russell; daughter, Kristin; mother, Sybil Rosen; sister, Nancy; brother Andrew (Shirley); father-in-law, Dave Johnson, sister-in-law, Jenny (Tim); brothers--in-law, John (Kathy) and Bud (Laurie); as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Lisa was predeceased by her son, Tyler; father, Irv Rosen; and mother-in-law, Ruth Johnson.

Lisa had a remarkable zest for life, and lived determinedly with cancer over the last several years. She was selfless, caring and an amazing mom. She loved to talk to her kids about their dreams and plans and she loved the memories they made on their family trips together.

Whether she was staying connected with long-time friends, or family, or building new friendships, Lisa was had an incredible ability to connect deeply with the most amazing people. Lisa’s favourite thing in the world was when good things happened to her friends and family. Nothing made her happier.

Lisa did not like to sit still; she loved to be active, and to learn new things, whether swimming, golfing, skiing, biking, or running, particularly if she was with Bruce, or with her friends, and particularly if a social event was tacked on, so she could talk and laugh with the people she loved.

Lisa loved her family and friends, and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Her kindness and warm heart will be remembered forever. Things were always clear to Lisa. Care deeply and love.

Lisa's family would like to thank her entire medical team at Princess Margaret Hospital and the Southlake Regional Health Centre, for their care and compassion.

A service in Lisa's memory will take place at a later date with details to follow.

Bruce, Russell and Kristin, thinking of you during this very sad time. I got caught up with Lisa over lunch last summer and we talked a lot about you. Lisa and I met when she joined our learn to play hockey program on Monday mornings many years ago. Lisa was a joy to talk with in the change room, on the ice, and at our hockey parties, but was surprisingly competitive and keen when she wanted that puck! I loved that about her. I continued to see Lisa at our gym, around town and for the occasional meet up, always having a laugh together, or getting into deep conversations on many topics which inevitably always landed on our families . Lisa was so easy to talk with, and had a positive joyful view of life, even when faced with so many challenges the past several years. May Lisa’s joyful spirit continue to spread through you, her precious family, and through all of us that are lucky enough to call her friend.
Hugs, Karen

Dear Bruce, Russell, Kristin, and extended Family,
Words cannot express how sincerely sorry I am for the loss of your dear Lisa. I was so fortunate to have met Lisa almost 20 years ago when we played ladies hockey together. Little did I know back then that our friendship would continue to blossom throughout the years to come. Even though we didn't see each other all that often, we always stayed connected and I can honestly say, she became one of my dearest friends. Some days we would virtually spend the entire day together when we would go down for treatments at Princess Margaret but sadly enough, it never was enough time. I loved spending time with Lisa. Our friendship was so easy and we always had the most amazing visits. Lisa always made me feel so happy. We could talk about anything! Lisa was a gift to everyone who knew her. I feel so blessed to have experienced such a beautiful friendship and I will treasure that for the rest of my life.
I will be keeping your family and extended family and friends in my prayers. I hope that you can take comfort in knowing that your dear Lisa will always be with you because she loved you all so very much.

Fondly,
Kathy Abels

Hi Bruce and Family,
The service was a beautiful reflection of Lisa's life, it is clear you loved her very much and she loved all of you very much too. For some reason, we just do not know why some of the saddest things happen to some of the best people. We are sure Lisa will be missed very much by everyone. We just watched the live stream, it was nicely done but we would have loved to have been present.
Thinking of you, and your family,
Your dear friends, Carol and Murray

Dear Bruce, Kristin, Russell, Sybil, Andrew, Shirley and Nancy,
My friendship with Lisa started in Grade 4 when my family moved around the corner from the Rosen family . Lisa was a constant friend to me through all of life's phases and stages including raising our kids and sharing great times and memories with her and Bruce. I along with Chris and our kids ( who always said "We love Lisa!") will miss her dearly but we will keep her spirit, positive outlook, humour, selflessness and thoughtfulness close to our hearts to help guide us through our lives.
She was such a devoted and loving mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend to so many.
Sending our love and hugs
Dale, Chris, Geoff, Mollie, Shawn, Jaime and Jenna

Lisa and I were neighbours for many years. She was the one who got me into ladies' hockey, and I'm forever grateful to her for it. When I was looking for someone to join me for a riding group (equine), Lisa jumped right up. She brought Kristin as well, and the three of us shared many happy times. In the later years, we would get together for coffee and a visit, and she would often take a walk break from her neighbourhood run to visit as I walked the dog.
The thing I'll remember most about Lisa is her enthusiasm, especially for trying something new. I imagine her carrying that spirit into her next great adventure.
