Luis made the journey from Uruguay to Canada. Luis was a devoted and proud Canadian citizen. He delved into politics, history, and journalism. Many nights he gave the contestants on Jeopardy! a run for their money. Every morning he would get his Toronto Star from the driveway and engross himself in the day’s news. A lover of music especially of the voices of Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, and Nana Mouskouri. He would describe himself as a lifelong student of the cultures of the world and was fluent in 4 languages. Memories of Uruguay were kept alive through classic dishes like barbeque parrilla, steak, chimichurri, and entrana. Luis along with Bev and his sons enjoyed traveling. He and Bev set off in the winter to snowbird at their house in Estero, Florida. They also made trips to South America and Europe. To say that Luis had a green thumb would be an understatement. A passionate gardener that would bring Bev along to collect another variety of hosta that were planted with precision and care amongst his hardy perennials. Luis was selfless. If somebody needed help he would do whatever he could for them without hesitation. His positive attitude and virtues that he shared with others will be carried in the hearts of all that knew him.
