Marjory Jean Weedon

Marjory passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston. She was predeceased by her husband Horace, her sons David and Gary, and her grandson Nathan. She is survived by her son James (Astrid) and daughter Michelle (Scott); her grandchildren Mark, Tammy, Shawna, Jake, Dane, Luke, David, Jennifer, Chris, Nichole, Kimberly, Holly and Katie; and her great grandchildren Thomas, Allison, Nathanial, Zoey, Cole, William, Ella and Max.

Marjory and her younger sister Ruby grew up on a farm on Jane Street in King Township just outside Kettleby. They attended a one room schoolhouse, SS #6, and later the old Aurora High School on Wells St. She met Horace just after the war ended at a local dance. They were married and raised four children on a house they built on a lot which was severed from the corner of her parents' land.

Marjory worked at various jobs. In the late 60s she worked as a real estate agent for two companies in Aurora. She also worked for many years at the Bank of Commerce in Richmond Hill. She later completed her Health Care Aide and worked at several LTC facilities. In her mid 50’s she went back to school and completed her RPN.

Through all these experiences Marjory made many lifelong friends. Marjory had a fabulous memory for history and loved to recount both local and family history.

Marjory and Horace loved to travel. They would often take car trips to sight see an area. They drove both out west and to the east coast. In later years they traveled to England to find Horace’s cousins, whom they found and had many visits back and forth for years after.

Marjory enjoyed her many friends and was always ready to help anyone that needed it. She loved to dance and was an avid reader. She was very independent and never let her age slow her down.

Visitation for Marjory will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 2 - 5 p.m. and Monday, June 17, 2024 from 10 - 11 a.m. with a Funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8.
