Dear Halbert family,
I just stumbled over Mr. Halbert's (back in the years I knew him, everyone was "Mr." and "Mrs.") obituary in a back newspaper issue and was very sad to learn of his passing.
He was so full of life -- even larger than life :-) -- and very kind and generous to all who knew him. 
My condolences on your loss of such a wonderful man.

I remember him always having a smile and something fun to say whether it was when I was visiting Janine or in his shoe store.  My sincere best wishes go to all the family.

Mom always looked so forward to Uncle Joe taking her "fishing" and as a kid I always looked forward to trout for breakfast. Love you all.
