Decades ago, Patrick Egan and his wife, Nora, were wonderful friends of my mother, Jean. They stood by her during the years that she was raising her young family of four by herself. My siblings and I would look forward to being with them when they came to visit. Patrick was always so generous with his time, providing a kind of fatherly love that we were missing so much. We fondly remember our trip to Florida and our days of playing in the surf with Patrick. He made us feel so safe in those wild waves, so many years ago. Thank you, Patrick, from all of us.

Uncle Pat - you were one of my hero’s. Larger than life on the golf course and always ready with an easy smile and joke to make me laugh. Some of my fondest memories are visiting you with my Dad or you coming to Glen Ellyn and the conversation centering around golf, golf and more golf. You taught me a lot about how to conduct oneself, how to keep things respectful and how to treat others. I will never forget you and I will carry on our golf in my mind forever. I love you.
