Peter Klaas Faber

Born on July 9, 1933, in Ulrum, The Netherlands, Peter was one of nine beloved children of Klaas and Anje Faber. In the 1950s, he immigrated to Canada in search of new opportunities and a fresh start. In 1957, he married Ruby, his devoted wife and partner in life. Together, they built a loving home and raised five children. After Ruby’s passing in 2014, Peter found companionship once again and married Engelina Dekkema in 2018.

Peter will be fondly remembered as a man of unwavering faith, integrity, and generosity. He had a natural gift for offering guidance and lending a helping hand to those in need. Energetic and full of life, Peter found joy in nature—whether walking through the woods, camping under the stars, or pedaling along on his cherished bike rides. He also loved gathering with family for card games, especially when luck was on his side.

Peter is survived by his wife Engelina; his five children: Martin (Joanne), Keith (Margot), Ann (Scott), Tim (Marianne), and Ingrid (Manuel); eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Community Christian Reformed Church, 333 Davis Dr, Newmarket, ON L3Y 2N6. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., with a reception to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
