It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Ted (Reginald Embleton) Barrett. Ted passed away on December 21, 2021 in his 87th year comfortably and peacefully in his sleep. In his youth, Ted was a tall, handsome man with a gift for numbers. He began his career in commercial office real estate at A.E. Lepage. After much success, he left the safety of an established company along with three colleagues to form Leasco Realty. In the ten years following, Leasco grew and flourished into a formable Toronto market leader, eventually to merge and become what is known today as Colliers International. Ted had many passions including the family cottage on Indian Point, Balsam Lake, gardening, skiing, leisure motorcycling and boating, notably sailing. Ted’s retirement years were spent happily and quietly in Aurora, Ontario.
Ted is survived by former wife Bette and by sons Bruce, Larry (Barb) & Scott (Lee) and grandchildren Stephanie (Jeff) & Andrew. He is further remembered by his companion Maureen Kostesky and her daughter Mishaela. No formal visitation, funeral or service is planned at this time due to Covid. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.thompsonfh-aurora.com for the family.
