Robert Joseph Rakovsky

Robert was the beloved husband of Janice, proud father to Justin (Tina) and Nick (Sam), and a devoted grandfather to Emma, Jake, Kate, and Alex. He was a cherished brother to Barb (the late Lenny), and brother-in-law to Liz (Bob). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Mike, James (Elle), Ian and Erin (Jeff) and as a great-uncle to Hannah, Brynn, Lyla, Tye and Nathan.

Known to many as Rock’n Rob, he was a talented musician who brought energy and joy to every room he entered, especially when performing with his band, On the Rocks. He was also a gifted woodworker, a passionate gardener in recent years, and always the life of the party, happiest when hosting, connecting with others, and sharing stories with family and friends.

Above all, Rob was a deeply devoted family man, endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren. His warmth, humour and generous spirit will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jumpstart Charities, supporting access to sport for children in need, a cause close to Coach Rob’s heart.

A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM in the chapel. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room.
