

Ronald Gregory Ellingwood passed away peacefully on Friday August 1, 2025, at the age of 93 at Park Place Manor in Aurora, Ontario. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Gail (nee Petch). Ron is survived by his four children: Cathy (late Rado), Peter (Linda), Chris (Chantal), and David (Heather). He will be deeply missed by his 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Born in Windsor, Ontario, Ron attended St. Anne’s School, Assumption High School, and graduated from Walkerville Collegiate. After starting as an apprentice at Brokenshire and Scarff, he earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1955. He worked at Morris Homes, which became Cambridge Shopping Centres, before starting his own consulting firm. He later worked with Suny’s Petroleum, McLean McCarthy, Devan Properties, and Deutsche Bank. Ron and Gail raised their family in Windsor and Toronto. After retiring, they lived in Kingsville, Bobcaygeon, and Aurora, and spent their winters in Naples, Florida.
Ron helped establish St. Stephen’s Chapel in Toronto’s financial district, and volunteered his time in many other Catholic parishes including Holy Rosary in Toronto.

A visitation for Ronald will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8. Funeral mass will occur Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15347 Yonge St, Aurora, ON L4G 1N7. A reception will follow afterwards at Thompson Funeral Home.
A visitation will occur Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Families First Funeral Home and Tribute Centre, 3260 Dougall Avenue, Windsor, ON N9E 1S6. A committal service will follow at 1:30 PM at Victoria Memorial Gardens, 1185 ON-3, Tecumseh, ON N0R 1L0.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
