I had the privilege of playing cribbage with Joan every week for the last few years. I admired her bravery and tenacity, but really enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humour! We would always tease each other about who was winning, but we both knew it really didn’t matter, but instead about the time spent together. She always loved to hear about what my kids and husband were up to and enjoyed seeing any pictures or videos. Every week she had treats for me to take home for them! She also always spoke about her own children and grandchildren and it was very evident how important they were to her! Joan and Don would always tease me about how busy I was with my children, constantly running around with them, but I must say my Thursday afternoon’s feel rather empty now. I know Joan is at peace and no longer suffering, but she will be missed!
