Sheila Anna Marie Gilroy

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Sheila Gilroy, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend. Sheila passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 28, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on July 23, 1946, Sheila lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was the beloved wife of Tom Gilroy, her partner in life and love. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories.

Sheila’s greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. She was the heart of her family, offering unconditional love, gentle wisdom, and steady support throughout all of life’s seasons. Her legacy continues through the generations who share with others her compassion and love.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Gilroy; her children, Tammy Toye (husband Mike Toye), Marnie Gilroy (partner Frank Covello), and William Gilroy (wife Tara Gilroy); her grandchildren, Conner, Sydney, Jessica, Tucker, and Lachlan; and her great-grandchildren, Daphne, Finnley, Mezziah, and Maliyah. She also leaves behind many extended family members and close friends who will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home in Aurora from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. With remembrance readings at 1:00 p.m. Lunch and beverages to be served during her celebration. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor Sheila’s beautiful life.

Though she is no longer with us, the love Sheila gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
