Sylvia Jean Berg

At 90 Sylvia Jean Berg, (born Evans), of Aurora Ontario passed away gently at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, on 9 February 2022, following a stroke. She was predeceased by her mother Hilda Mary Evans, (born Scannell) and father Albert Henry Evans both of South Wales as well as by her brother John Evans and tragically her son Mark Gossman (1960-2005). She is survived by daughter Lesley Anne Jensen (born Gossman) of Ottawa Ontario and by grandchildren Brian Erik Jensen, Jeffrey Michael Jensen and Amanda Christine Jensen as well as son-in-law Soren Jensen.

A strong woman, she was active and capable until this January when her health deteriorated, even driving her car throughout 2021. She married Arthur Gossman in 1951 with whom she emigrated from England in 1953 and gave birth to Lesley and Mark in 1955 and 1960. She shared a strong love of sports with her son Mark and grandson Brian. She tried new things and conquered many fears, even holding a snake once. She married twice after her divorce from Arthur, keeping the Berg name of her last husband. She leaves behind a life fully lived.

There will be a gathering to bid final goodbyes at the columbarium in the Aurora Cemetery, (14253 Yonge Street Aurora, Ont. L4G 0P2) on 1st April 2022 at 2:00pm.
