His birth was a blessing and his death was far too early. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Tim passing away. He leaves behind his saddened wife Joanne and two sons, J.C. and Liam. Tim, is no longer by their sides, but there is no lack of memories and adventures to keep in their hearts.
The important stuff was how he lived his journey. Tim found the courage to reach out and play in life’s playground. He was grateful for the moments he shared with his family. He loved his Mom Susan, dearly, dedicating time to her every week. He was educated in a caring field and spent his career helping others who were so fortunate to receive his compassion. His most important education; however, was taught by his three sisters, Julie, Kathleen and Victoria, who prepared him for a life with his beautiful wife.
He had a passion for running. He developed these skills in his early life, while either running after or away from his sisters. He perfected these skills sharing the love running with his father, which lead to competitive running and his life’s desire to feel fulfilled on a daily basis. It was Tim and the ground, with his feet following the path ahead. He even named his most recent car Runner.
He followed the roadmap of life with enthusiasm, appreciating clear blue skies, the wind in his face, the sound of the bird’s singing and the colour of the leaves in fall. He built a life that was meaningful, never missing an opportunity to be in the driver’s seat seeking adventures for his family. He would enjoy taking his family on trips, packing the kayak or canoe with gear and paddling their way to a private campsite to enjoy the peace and quiet and often with a sunset paddle to end the day.
Tim was always eager to whisk Joanne away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A cottage in the middle of winter, hiking in fresh fallen snow, to end the day soaking in a hot tub or nestled around an outdoor fire. Of course that was with some nice craft beers locally sourced, from an adventure earlier in the day. An extended visit with Joanne, to New Zealand exploring the country and hiking The Milford Track, to celebrate their marriage and commitment, as well as a recent trip to Ireland celebrating a proud accomplishment was among their many adventures.
Tim added value to the world by trying to be exceptional at whatever task was at hand or swearing excessively when it didn’t go as planned. He took pride at being a great husband, father, son and brother. When faced with his recent illness, he lived his destiny with courage and tried to provide reassurance with his journey ahead. He was a good teacher at enjoying the here and now.
A life well lived for himself, his family and his friends. Tim had great adventure, compassion and a sense of humour that made everyone he touched, feel loved. He leaves behind all who knew him and cherished his loving demeanour and is now reunited with his father, Bruce. A special thank you to Uncle Peter for his support in navigating these past few months.
Please join us in celebrating the life of a man who lived his journey in a way that we all could learn from.
