OBITUARY

Mr. William Bruce Godson

20 December , 19609 February , 2019

GODSON, WILLIAM BRUCE 1960 - 2019 Passed away peacefully, in his 59th year, after a determined fight with cancer. Husband to Libby (Falconer) of 21 years and devoted father to Alexandra. He is survived by his brother Barry and sister Barb. Brother-in-law to Bill Falconer and uncle to Josee and Jennifer and families. Bill’s passion project after his cancer diagnosis was to make others aware that prostate PSA testing is not necessarily an accurate indicator of prostate health. He also wanted others to know that recent studies have found that a percentage of men with baldness (not merely an age related receding hair line) are at greater risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer. In sharing this information, it was Bill’s desire to help reduce the risk for others. A private funeral will be held for Bill, with details to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centre, in memory of Bill, would be greatly appreciated. To express condolences, please visit: www.thompsonfh-aurora.com. We wish to thank Dr. Lebner, her team, Dale, Mindy, Leigh-anne, and Flora for their incredible care and support. Libby and Alexandra would also like to thank the many friends and family members who have reached out to them with kindness.

Dear Libby and Alexandra; Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Our family was very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. The fondest memories we have of Bill were at the cottage on Clear Lake. We were neighbors growing up and spent most of the beautiful sunny summer days together. The Gibson family will always have very fond memories of Bill. Doug and Bill spent endless summer days boating and laughing and having fun. The gang at Clear Lake will forever miss Bill. Bill always made us laugh. What a sense of humor. So very fortunate we are to have had Bill Godson in our lives, we are all better for it. We will miss you Billy. RIP.
Love from Doug, Jen, Sharon, Steve, Sandi, Rob and Margaret.

We have all lost a dear friend. Wallis Dr, Westmount Public, LCS, Bishops Gaitors, Wildfire and all our lives on Clear lake. The memories go on and on!

I think back to our golf games last summer and I remember how much he enjoyed the lake, but even then it was clear that most important to Bill was his love for his family, Libby & Alexandria.

Barry and Barb I am so sorry you have lost your brother so soon, From Julie, Jane and I we are deeply sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bill was a good, man, dear friend, loving husband and a very, very proud father. He will be deeply missed.

Had many fond high school memories and fun investment chats with Bill over the years. He was a wonderful guy and great family man. We never had a conversation that didn't include laughs. You will be dearly missed. RIP Billy.

It was with sadness we received the news today of Bill's passing. We, his family and friends lost Bill far too soon. Let's chose to recall the good times. And, there were many of them. For years the Godsons were our next door neighbours on Clear Lake. We can still hear Bill's distinctive laugh echoing from over on the Godson side of the cedars. Bill dropped by for a visit just a month or so ago during a tour of the lake. We had a subsequent phone chat that recalled fun times and brought into focus the research he had done into prostate cancer. It was a health challenge he was facing with all the courage he could muster. We're comforted in knowing there's lots of room for guys like Bill and his fancy car in rock and roll heaven. We're sure he already has a plug in spot picked out and the volume turned up to ten. Bill: Rest in Peace!!
