Aaron A. Powers, Jr., Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.), passed away at age 84 on Sunday, January 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, after injuries sustained in a fall on December 15th while doing something he loved, hanging Christmas lights with his son Philip.
Aaron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joy, and their five children: Cyndi and her partner Chris, Debi, Steve, Philip and his husband James, and Tommy and his wife Tracy. Also surviving him are their five grandchildren: Summer and her husband Nate, Lindsey, Allison, Luke, and Katy; two great-grandchildren: Natalie and Magnolia; and two nieces: Teresa Bolin and Leslie Ledbetter, her husband Russ, and their daughter Sam.
His service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd. There will be a reception following the ceremony.
