

Aida Ybanez Ramos, 88, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 25, 1927 in Hebbronville, Texas to Filiberto Ybanez and Santos Moreno Ybanez.
Aida grew up in South Texas with her eight siblings. She married the love of her life, Alvaro Ramos on August 22, 1948. She was a passionate cook and gardener and never missed an opportunity to dance. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Aida worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell during World War II and also worked with the United Methodist Children’s Center of Kingsville, Texas for over 25 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Aida was devoted to her faith and family and enjoyed life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; sons, Baby Ramos and Alvaro Ramos, Jr.; brothers, Filiberto (Juanita) Ybanez, Jr., and Homero (Crisanta) Ybanez; sisters, Maria (Agustine) Ramirez, Antonia Ybanez, Lilia (Winiberto) Garcia, Hortencia (Fernando)Ramirez, and Santitos (Ramiro) Martinez; and brother-in-law, Fernando Ramirez. Aida will be sadly missed by her sister, Olga Ramirez; daughter, Anna (John) McBee; daughter-in-law, Lydia Ramos; sons, Alan Ramos and Albert (Erica) Ramos; grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Ramos, Jacob Ramos, Melanie McBee, Jennifer (Justin) Gordon, Isaak Ramos, Bianka Ramos, Vicktoria Ramos, Demi Castillo, and Erin Ramos; great-grandchildren, Jett Gordon, Jace Gordon, Jax Villarreal, Madelyn Ramos, and Katelyn Ramos; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 28, 2016 with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Celebration will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Honoring Aida as pallbearers will be Alan Ramos, Albert Ramos, Justin Gordon, Andy Ramos, Isaak Ramos, Scott Ramos, Jacob Ramos, and Oscar Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jett Gordon, Jax Villarreal, and Jace Gordon.
The family would like to thank the staff at Senior Care at Onion Creek and Altus Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion.
Aida will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, joy, and love of life.
